Our Members
The more members who join Health Consumers’ Council, the stronger our voice becomes in advocating for health rights and supporting consumer voices.
Together, we can work towards our vision of equitable, person-centred, quality healthcare and improved health outcomes and experiences for everyone in WA.
We have two categories of membership available:
Individual Membership: available to any individual consumer, carer, or community member aged 18+ who supports the purposes of HCC.
Individual membership is free.
As an individual member you will join a network of engaged, active consumer advocates and representatives, and be kept updated on HCC workshops, events, and news. You will be able to attend and vote at our Annual General Meeting, and nominate yourself to be considered as a Management Committee Member (when vacancies arise).
Associate/Organisational Membership: available to community organisations, commercial health care organisations, Government health care providers or government departments or statutory bodies who support the purposes of HCC.
For Associate/Organisational membership there is a small fee.
As an associate/organisational member you will be kept updated on HCC workshops, events, and news, and be invited to contribute and comment on HCC submissions and policies. You will be able to ask HCC for support for submissions or initiatives of significance to the member organisation (subject to HCC capacity), have the opportunity to ask HCC to represent the views of specialist organisations in higher level deliberations, and have access to partnership opportunities. You will also be eligible for discounted training room hire at our Mount Lawley office (subject to availability).
An organisational member will have one vote per organisation at our Annual General Meeting, exercised through a nominated representative. Organisational members are eligible for election to our Management Committee.
Associate members have a voice at our Annual General Meeting but are not eligible to vote and are not eligible for election to the Management Committee.
